After a pretty quiet week, the major indexes saw a jump in volume on Friday to close the week on a positive note. Signaling further strength, investors were hardly rattled by the sell off in Google after the company missed earning estimates.

The next week will be telling as many top companies announce earnings and set the tone for the near future action. Out of Friday’s trading, two stocks that are highly rated by IBD broke out and look very bullish:


While the stocks are looking positive, be mindful that we are not at full strength in the markets. Until Friday, action had been disappointing and if you take a position in a stock, be sure to watch carefully and cut losses at 8% if the stock proves to be a false breakout.
Lastly, gold and oil have rebounded from recent pullbacks and are up to $1439 and $109 respectively.
